SCHEDULING
* Contact the church office (785) 227-2167 to secure your wedding date.
* Contact the Pastor of Bethany Church
* A member of the Wedding Advisory Committee will contact you to
schedule a meeting at your convenience. During this meeting you will
fill out a contact form and pay a reservation fee, which is
non-refundable.
PASTOR
* The Bethany Lutheran Church Pastor will preside at all weddings held
here. Permission to have another pastor must be granted by the Executive
Committee of the Church Council.
* Premarital counseling by the Pastor is an essential part of the
preparation for your marriage.
MUSIC
* Because your Marriage Service is a service of worship in God's
House, the music must therefore be carefully and discriminantly chosen.
Music must be approved by the Pastor. Our Pastor or church organist
will be glad to offer suggestions for appropriate music.
* Bethany Church's organist will play for all weddings held at
Bethany Church. Permission to use any other organist must be granted
by the Executive Committee of the Church Council.
* Soloists (vocal and instrumental) may offer special appropriate
music for your wedding. They need to be in contact with the Pastor or
organist of Bethany Church soon after the wedding is scheduled. Fees
are up to the individual soloists. Bethany's organist can recommend
soloists if you need suggestions.
FLOWERS / DECORATIONS
* Wedding Candelabras are available for your use. There is a fee
for the use of the candles. Please review your decorating plans
with our Wedding Advisor.
PHOTOGRAPHY & OTHER GUIDELINES
* In keeping with the solemnity of the Marriage Service, we ask
that no flash photography be taken after the Processional and throughout
the ceremony. Ushers should remind guests having cameras of this policy.
If you have a printed bulletin, please include this request in it. Time
exposures may be taken from the balcony during the service.
* Discreet use of video cameras is acceptable
CAMERA / SOUND SYSTEMS
* The Church's video equipment and/or sound system is available. Our
Wedding Advisor will contact our trained camera/sound technician on your
behalf.
BRIDE AND GROOM'S DRESSING ROOMS
* Dressing rooms will be available for you.
USE OF BETHANY CHURCH'S WEDDING CROWN
* Bethany's wedding crown, given in memory of Megan Meiers, is
available for use. Our Wedding Advisor will contact Megan's parents
on your behalf.
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
* Please honor and respect our church building and grounds.
* Please inform the members of your wedding party:
o smoking is not permitted in the building
o no alcoholic beverages are permitted.
